South Texas Renal Care Group is dedicated to improving the health and well-being of kidney disease patients throughout San Antonio and South Texas. The team is composed of board certified physicians in internal medicine and nephrology who provide comprehensive treatment for hypertension, diabetic and non-diabetic kidney disease, and renal transplantation services. Intrigued by how the human body worked and how to heal it when it malfunctioned, Dr. Zafar graduated with his medical degree from Sindh Medical College in Pakistan in 1986. Upon relocating to the United States, he went on to serve his residency in internal medicine and his fellowship in nephrology at the State University of New York.
A member of the American Society of Nephrology, he is board-certified in internal medicine and nephrology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM).
