What symptoms led up to your diagnosis?

Tiredness no strength tummy aches from the age of 5. quite a lot of time off school and work always at the doctors saying it was anemia, lost a lot of weight, had blood transfusions as well. Then I was diagnosed when I was 52 years old after many years of not being well with problems. if it weren't for a locum doctor who sent me to hospital, I would be like that for a long time. I also had a hysterectomy heavy periods etc... which if I was diagnosed earlier I would not have had the operation.

What tests did your doctor do, and what was this experience like?

Doctor done blood tests then sent me to hospital for blood tests, very worrying but glad to be sent for various tests. they then found out I was a coeliac.

Upon learning about your diagnosis, what happened next?

When diagnosed with coeliac after a few tests at the hospital, I was diagnosed with coeliac and lactose intolerance then put on a special diet which I am still on now but had no more problems since being diagnosed. I put back my weight I had lost and feeling great now.
