Second Impact Syndrome occurs when a person suffers a second concussion before the symptoms of the first one have subsided. Specifically, in this condition the brain swells rapidly and catastrophically. Sometimes, even fatally. The brain gives a 72 hour window for healing to start. After the 72 hours, one must work on getting the inflammation down and healing damage done by stimulation and making of new plasticity.
