Yes, some people can experience soreness following an adjustment or if any soft tissue work is performed. This is sometimes because we are manipulating joint and soft tissue that may not have been moved or used in a while. For example, if you go to the gym and lift weights, but you haven't lifted weights in 3 months... the odds are that the muscle groups you worked during your workout will be sore over the next few dyas. If you are feeling increased pain following adjustments or soreness that is not resolving, it is best to talk to your provider.

If fluid has built up it may cause pain or discomfort or changes in how things sound. If you were diagnosed, your doctor would have given you home remedies on how to get the fluid to drain or dry up. A lot of times this can resolve on its own, however if there is some type of infection you will need to see your primary care doctor or an urgent care/walk-in clinic doctor to prescribe you medications such as antibiotics. Chiropractors do not prescribe medications. If the pain or the fluid build up worsens, it is possible your medical doctor may have to do a procedure to help drain it.
