1 What is Beyaz?

Generic: Drospirenone, Ethinyl Estradiol, and Levomefol

Drospirenone – E.Estradiol – Levomefol, also known and sold under the trade name of Beyaz, is a combination of three products which are used to prevent pregnancy.

It is a birth control pill which contains two kinds of hormones – drospirenone, which is a progestin, and Ethinyl estradiol, which is an estrogen.

Their substances prevent pregnancy by preventing the release of an egg (ovulation) during the menstrual cycle, as well as causing the vaginal fluid to become thicker to help prevent sperm from reaching an egg and changes the lining of the uterus to prevent attachment of a fertilized egg.

This product also contains a folate supplement. Folate is a vitamin B which helps to prevent spinal cord birth defects in an unborn baby.

The birth control may also be used to make your periods more regular, or to decrease the blood loss, help with painful periods, and decrease the risk of ovarian cysts.

This product is available in the form of a tablet.

5 Potential Side Effects

Common side effects – nausea, vomiting, headache, abdominal cramps/bloating, swelling of the ankles/feet, or weight changes. These are considered as common and not serious side effects. But, if they persist or worsen, inform the doctor right away.
