Teveten is an angiotensin II antagonist used for the treatment of hypertension.

High blood pressure adds to the workload of the heart and arteries which can damage the blood vessels of the brain, heart, and kidneys, resulting in a stroke, heart failure, or kidney failure.

The risk of strokes and heart attacks can be reduced by lowering blood pressure. This drug works by blocking vasoconstrictor substances to relax the blood vessels. This drug requires a prescription.

2 What to Know Before Using

Before using Teveten, you must know all about the risks and complications associated with it. Inform your healthcare provider for any allergic reactions to these drugs or any other drugs, foods, dyes, preservatives, or animals.

Inform your healthcare provider for any other medical problems such as congestive heart failure, kidney problems, diabetes, electrolyte imbalances, fluid imbalances, or heart disease.

3 Proper Usage

To use Teveten properly, you must follow all instructions given by your doctor. The treatment of hypertension may include weight control and changes in the types of foods you eat, especially foods high in sodium or potassium.

Consult with your healthcare professional before changing your diet. Hypertensive patients usually feel normal and will only feel the symptoms when extensive damage already occurred. Compliance with your drugs and regular checkups are important to control your hypertension.

A missed dose should be taken as soon as possible. However, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule if it is almost time for your next dose.

4 Precautions to Take

If you take Teveten, your doctor should perform routine checkups and advise you in taking precautions. Unwanted effects can be screened using blood tests.

This drug has teratogenic potential and is contraindicated during pregnancy. Birth control should be practiced to prevent the occurrence of pregnant.

Inform your healthcare provider immediately if you think you have become pregnant while taking this drug.

This drug may cause dizziness, lightheadedness, or fainting may occur, especially when you get up from a lying or sitting position.

Be careful in taking this drug before you drive, use machines, or do anything else that could be dangerous. If this drug causes you to faint, call your healthcare professional immediately.

These conditions may cause you to lose too much water and may lead to low blood pressure. You can also lose water by sweating, so drink plenty of water during exercise or in hot weather.

5 Potential Side Effects
