Any illness that stresses your system can cause a sinus tachycardia, and Covid qualifies.

The simple answer is yes. One of the complications of Covid-19 is myocarditis, which is inflammation of the heart muscle. The heart is unable to contract strongly to produce a good outflow. The heart tries to compensate by beating fast (tachycardia).
