CT is very good at diagnosing pneumonia. If the pneumonia is early or very small, the diagnosis may be difficult. Also, if the considation is adjacent to compression of the lung or other pathology, pneumonia may be difficult to differentiate. You Radiologist is an expert at reading CT and would be able to help with the diagnosis of pneumonia. You medical doctor should also be helpful to put it all together with other signs of pneumonia to include physical symptoms and labs.
Possibly, if it is very early stage.
