Yes, but it is very important that you notify your practitioner that you are pregnant to be sure they are comfortable with it. Then if they are comfortable treating you they can avoid points that could cause problems with your pregnancy.
Same point can .

Yes. I encourage you to book a session with your practitioner of choice to get help with relief.
Absolutely. The trick is finding a practitioner who would be comfortable treating you during pregnancy who has never seen you before. I personally do, but i have known many people who, for liability reasons, will not. In our industry, we tend to get the blame for anything that goes wrong, and none of the credit when everything goes right. :-)
Yes, you can. Acupuncture is safe for low- or no-risk pregnancies; for high-risk, consult your OBGYN first. There are acupoints and areas of the body to be avoided during the first trimester. So long as you seek treatment from a LICENSED acupuncturist and not an MD that practices dry needling, you will get proper care. A practitioner who is licensed by the state, has had a minimum of 3 years education in a Master's level accredited school, will know how best to care for you after conducting a thorough health history.
Good luck!!!

Regarding acupuncture during pregnancy: There are many variables to this. Number one, you need to make sure that your acupuncturist is skilled in treating women during pregnancy. There are many things that can be treated, such as morning sickness, nausea, vomiting, etc., then there are things that cannot be treated. Please find an acupuncturist who specializes in fertility, pregnancy and post-partum care.

Thank you,

Always speak with your physician before having acupuncture to confirm it is right for you. In general, yes, you can have acupuncture while pregnant. Acupuncture is often used for morning sickness, low back pain, and shoulder pain during pregnancy.
Acupuncture is used in pregnancy to treat pain, nausea, and other conditions. It is usually recommended because there are no side effects. We have a lot of pregnant women who find relief from acupuncture.

Good morning,

For your question, the answer is yes. But with restrictions, acupuncture is not recommended for the first 2 1/2 months of pregnancy as a general rule. Counsel with your practitioner is highly recommended.

Hello,

Yes, acupuncture is very safe during pregnancy. In fact, when medications are contraindicated, acupuncture is a good option and is frequently used for such complaints as back pain, morning sickness and nausea, headaches, and fatigue.

Hi there,

Congratulations on your pregnancy! Very exciting. Yes, acupuncture performed by a trained, licensed acupuncturist is safe during pregnancy as we are taught which points are unsafe to perform during pregnancy, thus avoiding using them. An added bonus - we are also taught which points can help support pregnancy, from morning sickness to heartburn and there’s even points to help encourage baby to turn the correct direction if baby is turned sideways (transverse) before birth!
Absolutely. Though it is of extreme importance that you notify your practitioner of your pregnancy. During pregnancy, there are certain points that cannot be needled to ensure your and your child's safety.
Absolutely. I treat pregnant women all the time throughout their pregnancy for all manner of issues. I can even induce labor and turn a breach baby. I strongly recommend finding an acupuncturist near you.
Yes, you can get acupuncture during pregnancy, but have avoid some points.
Acupuncture is generally safe over the entire course of a pregnancy with one caveat: patients need to make sure they're seeing an actual board certified, state licensed acupuncturist. In the US acupuncture/Chinese medicine is currently in a weird position - there are many different providers who can technically offer 'acupuncture' without attending or graduating from an accredited school of Chinese medicine. These other providers sometimes have minimal training and, particularly in the case of pregnancy, there are safety concerns.

From the perspective of classical Chinese medicine, there are points which should be avoided in pregnancy. Often someone not fully trained in Chinese medicine isn't aware of this fact and doesn't know which points to avoid.
