How long does it take to get the blood test results?

I will have a blood test for vitamins. How long does it take to get the blood test results?

2-4 hours.
The bloody results usually takes from 12 to 24 hours after the blood have been received in the laboratory. Sometimes, additional work needs to be done if there are findings that requires more testing. If the blood was drawn in a blood drawing center, it may take longer since they send all collected blood overnight to their laboratory. When you are hospitalized, the hospital laboratory does the testing and then is much faster. Thank you
This really depends on where they are done. Some Doctor Offices can run the tests in house. Others send them to a lab. Then depending on the type of test that is done, the results will be sent to the Ordering Provider the next day. Your provider will contact you with the results. The labs usually have an online portal for patients to look at their results. Those results are usually released a couple of days after they are sent to the provider. The best answer is to contact your provider. You should see on your explanation of benefits (EOB) from your insurance company what lab was billed. Then go to their website to access your account.
