It really depends on what is causing the hip pain and how severe the condition is. If surgery is not necessary, symptoms may improve within a few treatments. Only the physician that performs the exam, makes the diagnosis and determines a proper treatment plan can address expectations for treatment frequency and duration. Hip pain can be from many different causes, so it's impossible to say how long the treatment lasts. Some pain can be fixed in one visit, for others, it is monthly visits for the rest of your life. The doctor must do an exam to find the cause of the problem.
