How should I sleep with disc hernia?

I have a disc hernia. How should I sleep with a disc hernia?

There is no specific position. To help with the disc hernia a few exercises should be able to help with any pain your experiencing. 1. stand up and put your hands on your hips. Lean back bending at the hips for 10 reps. 2. Glute bridges for 10 reps. Increase reps as they get easier. Focus on strengthening your glutes and core muscles so you don't recruit low back muscles and your spine to do what your core and glute muscles should be doing. Thank you for your time! Good morning Not knowing any specific information it is hard to give any recommendations.
There isnt a clear one size fits all answer to your question. The best position to sleep with a disc herniation will depend on its location and size. For example, neck and low back herniations wouldnt necessarily benefit for the same sleeping positions and the direction and size of the herniation needs to taken in to account as well.
It depends where the hernia is located but most patients are either comfortable on their side or on their back with knees elevated. Some patients will comment that a firm recliner can be a saving grace.
First of all you need to be treated with Non surgical spinal decompression. This is why I provide this service. There are a tremendous amount of people out there with disc herniation in the lower back and neck. We help to reduce and eliminate, herniations regardless of whether they are in the lower back or neck, or both. Once we start treatment I go over the recommendation on what to do and not do. One of those is sleeping. But you have to start with treating the disc herniation first before trying to get restful sleep. otherwise, it does not matter how you sleep if you still have the herniation. They do not go away by themselves. Once we start treatment you want to sleep on your back or side and I get more detailed on the positions and how to sleep when a person becomes a patient of mine otherwise it defeats the purpose.
