Dentist Questions Impacted Tooth

I need surgery on two impacted wisdom teeth. How long is the recovery after this procedure?

I have a wedding to attend the week after my surgery to removed 2 impacted wisdom teeth. Is a week long enough to recover from the procedure? Will I be able to eat the (great!) food they'll be serving at the reception?

Give yourself a day or two to get back the your normal activity, and consider doing it under general anesthesia. You should be fine by the time of the wedding and enjoy!
Hopefully you will be fine, but you must follow the post-op directions of the doctor with antibiotic and analgesic side by side for a fast recovery.
If the teeth are simple to remove and an incision isn’t made, then 1 week should be fine. However, if they are the “typical” impacted wisdom teeth, it could take 10-14 days to be able to really eat well.

A week should be enough, but as with any surgery if complications happen, healing could take longer.
Yes I'm sure you went to the wedding by this time I'm also sure that you probably had some episodic pain so it's time to get that tooth looked at because there is an old saying that pain always comes on a Friday before the ball game when the dentist is on the lake fishing.
Average recovery time for a young healthy patient after dental extractions is one week. The first three days are typically the most uncomfortable. If this is a planned procedure and you are currently not in pain I would put it off til after the wedding.
Hi,

Recovery from wisdom teeth surgery can take up to 2 weeks. Depending on the severity of the impaction or the ease of extraction. If impacted, bone will be removed and pressure attained. Pain onset in 2-3 days and lasts for a couple of weeks. Generally the pain starts to subside after the the first week or so. So, going to a wedding the same week as your extractions, you will likely forego some of those delicious dishes!
Hope this helps.
If it's a very important venue, you may not be 100 percent recovered; it varies from person to person.
