Depending on the procedures, General, General/popliteal blocks, Local IV anesthesia, and or local.
Usually, what’s referred to as monitored anesthesia care is utilized as general Anesthesia only if it’s an extensive very involved procedure.
Most of the time it is done with local . Some Surgeons prefer IV sedation. It all depends on the Surgeon and the patient.
IT can be done with sedation or general anesthesia.

It depends on how extensive your foot surgery is. Typically, it will be done with a nerve block in the pre operative area with local anesthesia under ultrasound to help with pain. Then you would likely go off to sleep with general anesthesia for the actual surgery. Hope that helps!
It depends on your general medical status, the type of surgery, and the length of the surgery. In consultation with your surgeon and the anesthesiologist local anesthesia, or general anesthesia, or spinal anesthesia can be utilized.
Most foot surgery is performed using sedation and a local anesthetic. The anesthesiologist will give you a drug through your IV to sedate you, then your surgeon will numb the area while you sleep. For more complex surgeries or surgeries that require a thigh tourniquet your surgeon will order general anesthesia.
Depending on the surgeon, it can be done either local anesthesia plus sedation, or general anesthesia.

The most common is a combination of local anesthetic such as lidocaine or marcaine injected directly into the foot for numbness, as well as a sedation administered by the anesthesiologist. In this case, the patient is sleeping and breathing on their own. Sometimes for more extensive foot surgeries, general anesthesia will be used, where the patient is completely out and patient is intubated.
That is a decision that is made together by you, your surgeon and the anesthesiologist based on your preference and overall health.
Anesthesia can vary depending on procedure being performed. I recommend you discuss with your foot and ankle surgeon for the anesthesia they are planning on using
Usually both regional and either general anesthesia or conscious sedation is used when we perform foot and ankle surgeries.
There are a variety of anesthetic options for lower extremity surgery. The answer will depend upon the patient’s general health condition and the nature of the operative procedures.

Options include:

Local anesthesia with IV sedation
Local anesthesia only
General anesthesia
Spinal anesthesia
Regional nerve blocks
