What is the treatment for thrombosis in the leg?

I have thrombosis in my leg. Is it serious? What is the treatment for thrombosis in the leg?

The thrombosis in the leg is not serious itself but it is treated with blood thinners to prevent it from traveling to the lungs where it could cause a blood clot that could be serious.
The treatment I advise for such problems is Xarelto 15 mg Q 12 for 21 days and then 20 mg daily. I then follow the patient in the clinic and at 6 months check for a specific clotting disorder. If that panel is negative then I convert the patient to Aspirin.
