Dentist Questions Toothaches

Can toothache cause an earache?

I have a very bad toothache, and it seems like it also caused my earache too. Is it possible that my toothache is connected to my earache?

Yes, especially on lower back teeth. The large nerve that goes to lower teeth has a branch that goes across the eardrum
Yes, it can definitely affect your earache, depending on how bad the infection that you have is.
Yes many times a tooth can give you an ear ache depending on the location of the affected tooth.
It is very possible and you should see your dentist soon.
Yes
If you have a toothache, see a dentist! A toothache is an infection. Infections that are not treated can spread. The back teeth are close to the ear, the pain could be"referred" or it could be a separate infection. Seek care.
Yes, it is possible that a toothache presents itself as an earache. With the proper diagnoses, the dentist can find out which tooth is causing the problem. If the teeth are healthy, then the earache is from ear inflammation or infection, it presents itself as pain, especially in the upper teeth, on the same side. Only because of close proximity!
It is possible that a bad tooth could cause your ear to ache. You should be seen by a dentist to examine your teeth to determine if the earache is being caused by your teeth.
Yes.
The nerves in the mouth and facial area are close together. Sometimes when an area is infected, like your tooth, the infection spreads out. Your body is sending help to fight the infection. Your ear is close to your back teeth. The nerves send pain signals and there are nerves in the blood vessels that if irritated can also send pain signals. Sometimes the pain can be referred to your ear. Hopefully, you will have the infected tooth taken care of. If your ear is still hurting after the infection is treated, you may have a separate problem with your ear.
