Pain Management Specialist Questions Ibuprofen

Is frequent consumption of ibuprofen bad?

Every time I get my period I end up having ibuprofen at least 6 times during the first 2 days. Will this cause me problems in the long run?

Chronic use of high doses will have detrimental effects to kidneys and stomach.
Ibuprofen, as all non-steroidal anti-inflammatory type drugs, according to the FDA black box warning of April 6, 2005, can do the following:

a) Cause GI Perforation, obstruction, or bleeding
b) Cause blood clots, heart attacks, or strokes

There is no relationship between duration of consumption and the possibility of these serious medical conditions.
Be careful out there!!!!

Long-term use of ibuprofen can cause damage to the kidneys and reflux problems. It's always good to have it with food or milk. I would get a check from your primary care physician to make sure your kidneys are working fine.
