How long does crush injury take to heal?

I'm 24 years old and I hurt my hand really bad while riding my bike. How long does it take for a crush injury to heal?

That varies on the degree of damage. You need to see a Hand Surgeon.
A long time. Several months. Key things to do are elevate, elevate, elevate, and move your fingers so they do not get stiff. The more severe the crush injury, the longer it takes to heal.

Hope it helps!

That is hard to determine because it depends on the anatomic structure crushed and the degree of injury. Some crush injuries will always be painful.  This depends on if bone is crushed, degree of separation and if other structures are involved.  Soft tissues such as muscle, ligaments etc usually involve scarring and may significantly improve over 3-6 months.  Nerves depending on involvement may never totally heal and lead to chronic pain.  The best treatment is to begin early range of motion, tissue massage, local care with heat and ice.  Working with a good physical or hand therapist is often times helpful.  Good luck.
