Plastic Surgeon Questions Nose Plastic Surgery

Is nose plastic surgery safe?

I'm 24 years old and I'm planning on getting plastic surgery for my nose since it's way too wide. Is a nose job safe?

Rhinoplasty or cosmetic nose job is performed safely every day by board-certified plastic surgeons or facial plastic surgeons. It usually requires general anesthesia, and as long as you are healthy, there are a few concerns.
Yes
Nose surgery is very safe. It needs to be done in the hands of experienced surgeons that are boarded in either ENT or plastic surgery. You should do your homework and check out the reputation of the doctors you plan to use. Surgery can be performed under sedation for a general anesthetic. This will be part of your discussion with your surgeon. The biggest risk is nasal bleeding. This is where it can be addressed.
Yes, if it is done by an experienced surgeon. This surgery is done by plastic surgeons and ENT surgeons. Make sure this type of surgery is frequent with good results by the surgeon you consult. Just because they are in the specialty does not mean they are doing rhinoplasty surgery frequently with good results.
Nasal surgery is incredibly safe. An operation I perform weekly. I prefer to do this procedure with you completely asleep. This is not a painful operation. The most common complaints are a stuffy nose due to swelling inside forcing you to breathe out of your mouth making your mouth and lips dry.

All surgery has risks, but it is as safe as possible. Have your surgery done by a board certified plastic surgeon in a certified operating facility. Also, talk to the doctor about the risks involved and have all of your questions answered.

Dear patient, rhinoplasty is a very safe operation particularly in healthy young people. While not every patient who has a rhinoplasty is 100% satisfied with the cosmetic result, the incidence of complications during and after surgery is extremely low. I have been doing rhinoplasty for over 30 years and have performed approximately 3000 rhinoplasties. Based on this experience I could say that the incidence of complications is extremely low and the percentage of patients who are delighted with the results and glad they had the surgery is extremely high. I hope this helps you in making your decision. Sincerely, Dr. Ciardullo
Current nasal surgery has very low morbidity. All the doubts have to, definitely, be discussed with your treating surgeon.
