Family Practitioner Questions Osteoporosis

Is there a cure for osteoporosis?

My 67-year-old mother has osteoporosis and I'm very worried about her as she has difficulties walking normally. She's using medication, but what I really want to know is whether there is a cure for this condition?

There is no cure. It requires medication, a well balanced diet, and regular weight bearing exercise to treat
Osteoporosis is a condition rather than a disease. It can be reversed, but the risk is always there. Treatment revolves around managing risk factors, vitamins and weight bearing exercise. Vitamin D3 5000 IU, vitamin k2 100mcg, magnesium 400mg are the supplements to take. Stop taking bone depleting medications such as acid reflux meds and steroids. Start doing
jumping jacks 20 daily and lifting dumbbell everyday. Perimenopausal women should take hormone replacement therapy.
