Gastroenterologist Questions H. Pylori Infections

What are the symptoms of H. pylori?

I understand that pylori can cause stomach ulcers, but I feel like my symptoms are also linked with Crohn's, and some other disease. How would I know if I had an H pylori infection? What are the symptoms of h pylori?

H pylori is diagnosed in 3 ways: a stomach biopsy, a stool test or a breath test. A blood test for H pylori is not used much any more.
Most people with H pylori have no symptoms, but in less than 25% of infected people, they might get abdominal pain, gastritis or ulcers. In short, most people have no symptoms and have no idea if they have H pylori.
Thanks for the question!
H. pylori can range from NO symptoms to extreme Gastroenterologic symptoms that could mimic Crohn's. It is most quickly tested by a breath test that can be done in an office, but it's best tested by a stomach biopsy in a specialist procedure.

Hope that helps,
