What can I expect after hand tendon surgery?

I am a 42 year old male. I will have hand tendon surgery. What can I expect after hand tendon surgery?

There are different types of tendon surgery and you did not provide enough information for this question to be answered in a reasonable manner. Is it a cut tendon, torn tendon, one of the types of tendon compression syndromes? If you provide more information someone may be able to answer this. Your surgeon is always the best source of answers for these types of questions.

Your hand will hurt, be swollen and stiff. Elevate, elevate, elevate. Do the exercises your surgeon tells you to do, or your finger will get stiff and stiffness is very hard to treat. You will have to fo go to therapy, just do it. Remember, your ultimate outcome is half up to your surgeon and half up to you.
