Dentist Questions Tooth extraction

What is the best pain relief after tooth extraction?

Hi, I need to have my tooth removed next week and I'm nervous about any pain I might feel after it. What are the best ways to relieve pain after an extraction?

Keep ice on area. Remain quiet and take pain medication exactly as prescribed.
Follow all of your post op instructions carefully. Start with pain meds while still numb. Alternate between NSAID (like Motrin) and tylenol, using narcotic pain meds only as needed.
You can use pain medication which could be offered to you by the dentist and you can use ice in a bag with a little bit of water and hold it there to reduce the swelling in the pain.
