OB-GYN (Obstetrician-Gynecologist) Questions Menstruation

Why is my period short?

My period used to last for 4 to 5 days, and now it lasts for 2 and a half days. Why could this have happened to me? Please help, I'm so worried.

Do you use any form of birth control like hormonal pills? If they are low-dose estrogen, then periods are less heavy and also have a gynecologist do hormonal evaluation.
Your hormone level is getting lower as you're aging.
Almost NEVER is a shortened menstrual flow a problem to worry about. Of course there is so much more I would want to ask you about your health and medications you may be taking. For example, are your menses regular and monthly, or do you frequently miss days, weeks or months at a time? If menses are regular like "clock-work" and the only change has been a reduced flow or duration of flow, generally there is little concern.
