Dr. Mohammed Elkousy joined MFAMA in 2002 after completing his Maternal-Fetal Medicine Fellowship at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. During his Fellowship, he pursued numerous research interests and has had publications on preterm labor, cervical incompetence, vaginal birth after cesarean section with success rates related to VBAC, and gestational diabetes. In addition, he completed a Master of Science in Clinical Epidemiology (MSCE) and Biostatistics at the University of Pennsylvania Center for Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics (CCEB). Having practiced general Obstetrics and Gynecology for several years prior to pursuing his fellowship, he has a great understanding of patients’ needs as well as their referring physicians. Dr. Elkousy’s current clinical interests include all aspects of women’s health and maternal-fetal medicine with a special interest in obstetric ultrasound, preconception counseling, recurrent pregnancy loss and miscarriage, cervical incompetence, high-risk pregnancy, genetic testing, placenta previa, and preeclampsia.
