Frequently, burning eyes are caused by unavoidable environmental influences, such as strong winds, smog, smoke, dust, mold, pollen, pet dander or high pollen counts. However, similar sensations can be symptoms of a more serious eye problem that requires medical attention. As most young children may not be able to describe it in great detail, I would suggest they be seen just to rule out any issues as soon as possible.
