Should I eat before going to the chiropractor?
I wouldn't eat a heavy meal, but it doesn't matter if you eat before or not. I would not exercise for a few hours after an adjustment unless it is just walking.

It is possible that you have biomechanical instability with the vertebral articulations (joints) in the cervical spine. This will cause recurrent vertebral displacement resulting in nerve root irritation. It can also be accompanied by disc inflammation. I would recommend seeing a chiropractor to have your neck evaluated. You will probably need a series of chiropractic adjustments in conjunction with strengthening exercises. If you have had past injuries such as contact sports or auto accidents, this would definitely be a contributing factor to your problem. Those types of injuries in young people may not seem to be of concern at first, but can manifest themselves into a problem years down the road.

That has happened to me before, but not often. It is usually a muscle response at the base of the skull. In my opinion, it should not happen every time. Have you mentioned it to your chiropractor? If not, I would advise it because there could be another underlying problem needing attention. Do you have dizziness, lightheadedness or blurred vision afterwards? If so, further diagnostic testing is warranted.

There are different opinions on how long it will take to correct one's posture. In my opinion, you should start with 10-30 minutes a day and gradually work up to one hour per day. Wearing it for long periods at a time will actually weaken muscles and increase dependency on the brace. As for how long it will take for correction depends on the severity of the altered posture and the physicial condition of the individual. Usually three to six months or until the person is comfortable with the obtained results. Also, regular chiropractic treatment will be a valuable adjunct to enhance your progress.

See a doctor of chiropractic that offers Foot Levelers custom orthotics. These are the best on the market. A computerized scan is performed on each foot and it is designed specifically for the type of shoe that you wear. I suggest you get it designed for the shoes that you wear at least 80% of the time because they are not interchangeable with different ones. This month, I believe the company is running a special buy one pair and the second is half price. I have been wearing them myself for the last 6 years and have only had to replace them once. Excellent product. We recommend them to all of our patients. www.footlevelers.com

You can't "crack" your back like a chiropractor. Chiropractors spend several years studying and training to be able to perfect and hone their technique skills in the art of performing the specific chiropractic adjustment, i.e., CMT chiropractic manipulative technique. A person that attempts to "crack" their own spine or have a friend do it is running a very high risk of injury, possibly permanent. Also, bones don't crack unless they are breaking. The sound heard from adjusting the spine is called an audible which is caused by the movement of the synovial fluid, the natural lubricant inside the joint. FYI: Don't use the term "crack my back" to a chiropractor. They find it offensive and derogatory. Especially since they have spent seven years in college and over $250,000.00 to obtain their degree and license. They are the only specialist in their field.

Several things. Not only relief of her neck pain but improved posture, increased energy level, and improved sleep. Studies have also shown that regular chiropractic care improves immune system response, cognitive skills and coordination. A junior high baseball player I once treated couldn't hit the broadside of a barn with a bat. After a few treatments, his batting and fielding improved until he became one of the best players on his team. Hit a home run every game. He made his mother bring him for an adjustment before each game.
