Not at all. We are legally required to use clean needle technique and are trained just like nurses in using Universal Precautions to prevent the chance of infection from our needles. If you came to my office, I would avoid putting needles near or in open wounds and just use other points... which would still help, even if local needles were indicated.

Are you seeing a fertility doctor? In my opinion, you should start immediately and let them work to get you into a state of better health and balance. If you are receiving fertility treatments, there are some time specific protocols like before being inseminated or fertilized eggs being inserted. But if you are trying to get pregnant the old fashioned way, it is better to just start doing regular treatments to get your body healthier as soon as possible.

Sometimes, absolutely. Sometimes, not at all. It really depends. We don't treat cancer on our own, for instance... I don't need you to see a doctor for me to treat your headaches/migraines... unless I need to refer you out to get a CT scan of your brain, for instance. What kind of iron is your husband taking? Has he been checked for other nutrient deficiencies? Not all iron supplements are absorbed well. He should definitely be taking one that has iron bound to an amino acid or in a "chelate" form, for best absorption... that could be one problem. You should also consider having him eat what we consider "blood nourishing" foods, in Oriental medicine: Red beets, apricots, spinach/kale/greens (collards/mustard/turnip)-all should be blanched before eating, and the water discarded as opposed to consumed, beef (grass-fed, organic, 3-6 oz.) or eggs (with yolks, 2-3 daily, but MUST BE organic and free range or pasture raised). These foods should be consumed daily. Now, if his digestive system is weak, that could be another problem causing this. So best to consult a professional and be evaluated... but i wanted to give you something you could use today to get started. Acupuncture can help reduce and possibly eliminate your pain usually. Absolutely! I've only met one migraine in my career I could help, and that guy only showed up two times... so who knows if he would have kept coming! Even the hardest ones--cluster headaches--respond well to acupuncture.
