Have you ever had your ears congested to the point that it affects your hearing? A patient came in with upper back pain. As we were catching up he asked me multiple times to repeat what I had just said. I asked him if there were any other problems he was dealing with and he said, "No. Nothing except my congested ears, but chiropractic can't help with that. Can it?" This is a common misconception.
Many times ear congestion that is coming from allergies, sinus issues, or the common cold is a back-up of mucus and fluid into a tube that drains your sinuses and inner ear into your throat. This tube is called the eustachian tube and it runs very close to the bones in the upper part of the neck. There is a safe and simple correction that chiropractors are trained in, that can help clear the eustachian tube. This often gives significant relief in one or two treatments.
