Dr. Randall F. Dryer is an established and highly skilled orthopedic spine surgeon with over thirty-three years of experience in orthopedic spine care. In addition to serving in the U.S. Air Force, he followed his passion for medicine and graduated from the University of Iowa. He then obtained his medical degree from the University of Iowa Medical School. Dr. Dryer completed his internship at the University of Iowa followed by his residency in orthopedic surgery. In addition, he completed a spine and hand surgery fellowship at New Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge, England.
Unlike other doctors, Randall wanted “to do something that very few people were interested in”, which shows his passion and ingenious for the field of spine care. A field that had very little momentum initially in the 1980s, but grew to be an integral part of medical care in society today. While other specialties have importance, the spine provides structural balance and support for the functionality of the human body. Dr. Dryer knew this was the field for him, and pursued his now thirty plus year career.
His practice, Central Texas Spine Institute in Austin, Texas, proudly showcases his compassion and patient centric philosophy in the field of spine surgery. In his practice, Dr. Dryer is known for his excellent bedside manners, promptness, and accurate diagnosis. He provides comprehensive spinal care through diagnostic services, spine surgery, and conservative treatment modalities. Even though he practices in Texas, he serves patients from all over the world.
Dr. Dryer is well-regarded in the Austin, Texas community, honored with a 2016 Top Doctor Award, Austin’s Top Doctors in 2014, and Best Austin Doctors 2013. Additional awards include Patients’ Choice Award, On-Time Doctor Award, Compassionate Doctor Recognition, and the Cervical Spine Research Society Research Award. His commitment to his community beyond his practice includes the First Responder Week in Austin. Dr. Dryer started this week which runs September 11th-18th. This incredible organization honors first responders and raises donations and awareness for charity. His passion for the charity is shown through the wall of honor in his office, which shows a collection of uniform patches. These patches were given to him as a form of appreciation for the procedures he has performed.
When Dr. Dryer is not performing innovative spine surgeries, he is a published author in many prestigious peer reviewed journals. As well as educating the public through his speeches in locations ranging from the United Kingdom to New York. Beyond his writing and speaking abilities, he has been involved in numerous FDA-approved clinical trials which require immense intelligence and time set forth. While Dr. Dryer’s true passion lies in correcting spinal conditions, he greatly enjoys spreading his knowledge and helping the medical community innovate one stem cell therapy at a time.
