I’m so sorry you are experiencing this. I know getting a facelift is a big decision and you don’t want to have any hiccups along the way. What I would say to you about your symptoms is that generally most nerve weaknesses that occur after a facelift are temporary and full recovery is expected. Especially if you did not have a deep plane facelift. Lots of times swelling around the nerve is the cause. To that end, if your over all health permits, we can put you on steroids to decrease the swelling further. This should aid in the recovery of the nerve. I hope you recover soon and get to enjoy your facelift as you had intended to.

Hi this is a great question. There are multiple ways to address hair loss. The common procedure we consider "hair transplant" is a follicular unit graft placement. This requires harvest of hair follicles from the back of the head and transplanting them to the areas of hair loss. Depending on the amount of hair loss anywhere from 1500 to 3000 follicular units can be grafted in one sitting. This procedure is not a very invasive or painful procedure. Today most surgeons use a robot to harvest each follicular unit individually and all that is required is to numb the area of the harvest and the area of the transplant. After surgery there is some mild aching or discomfort but it lasts for only a few days.

First let me say that IPL when performed properly is safe and with limited complications. After an IPL or photofacial it is not uncommon for some of our pores to get plugged and we feel the bumps on our skin. This is usually from the lube used on the laser during treatment. This is likely what you are experiencing. If this is the case, it should dissipate in a day or two. Just make sure you are using a non-comedogenic moisturizer. If there is redness or pain associated with it, then you could be getting an infection and I would see your doctor immediately to start the right kind of treatment.

Hope this helped.
