Antihistamines such as allegra, zyrtec, or claritin will help before going into the sun. A product called Heliocare can be taken ahead of time to help prevent sunburn as well. If you do get sunburned, taking aspirin immediately does help calm it down. Topical aloe can also be beneficial.

Shorter showers and tepid temperatures are helpful. Barrier repair creams like cera ve, eucerin, or others are helpful after showers. When flares, cortisone creams and nonsteroidal creams are helpful. There is a new biological tx by injection called dupixent if it is severe. Maintenance is key in all tx. We worry about cellulitis and osteomyelitis, which is when the bone gets infected, with diabetic patients. Infection is very easy to occur in uncontrolled diabetes and difficult to treat. It must be followed very closely.

Sun exposure should always be limited and with the use of physical sunblock. Nobody should be exposed to the sun between 10-4. The suns rays cause skin cancer and premature aging.
For eczema you can use good skin hygiene and skin barrier creams such as aquaphor and cerave. Your dermatologist can also prescribe creams that will treat the eczema itself.
