The brutal beating of Tyre Nichols resulting in his death can't be ignored. Have we not evolved since the brutal beating of Rodney King some thirty years ago? Why can't we all get along? The Why seems to be related to the nature of man and the definition of the social contract. While I believe that covid 19 and superflu isolation is responsible for some behavioral aberration the social definition of worthiness and the nature of police power and protection seem more important in the murder of Tyre Nichols.
SCOTUS has determined that serving and protecting are secondary to self-preservation. sk that fearing for one's life has been an exonerating phrase for police. So we find the Memphis' 5 furious creating a mythology of self-defense But these men are all black. Well, the recapture of escaped slaves was the function of civil war "police" By definition their prey were subhuman. The black cops of Memphis are simply an extension of the time of old slave wranglers.
I recommend limiting exposure to the brutal scenario and concentrating on political options to your liking.
