The emergence of a particularly invasive strain of beta hemolytic streptococcus is adding to the perils of human interaction. BETA hemolytic streptococcal infection has long been known (since the 1920s I believe) as an often fatal complication of cuts and bruises and a cause of heart, lung and kidney disease uncontrolled until the discovery of penicillin in the 1940s. We have been impressed by the ability of viral strands to diversify and provide more deadly strains (Covid to Omicron to various betas) and failed to note that the same process was available to larger, slower creatures like bacteria. Xmas, New Years, Thanksgiving etc. have been and will continue to be super spreader openings for our ancient enemies. Disgust with inhibitions and declaration's of freedom from masks, social distancing and the influence of public health advocates plays into the world pattern of human species destruction.
Wear your masks, avoid mass events. Practice social distancing, get vaccinated with latest vaccines for flu and omicron. Be particularly careful when driving. It is not yet a War of the World's scenario. But the filming is ongoing.
