Dry needling is a technique involving the precise insertion of hair-thin needles into trigger points (TrP) in muscles; which are highly sensitive knots causing pain. This minimally invasive procedure effectively relieves pain, enhances joint flexibility & targets neuromuscular conditions. While it remains unclear why TrPs form, research confirms the efficacy of dry needling treatment; especially when combined with chiropractic adjustments, stretching, massage therapy, therapeutic ultrasound, or electrical muscle stimulation.
Dr. Parker Neill uses dry needling to address various conditions such as muscle tension /spasm, jaw issues (such as TMD), joint disorders, tendonitis & bursitis, headaches & migraines & more. Most patients require 2-3 sessions, sometimes up to 6, typically spaced 1-2 times per week. Adverse effects are generally minimal & temporary.
