Your hands often display the signs of premature aging more than any other area of the body. This is primarily because they are in constant use in our daily lives and people often neglect taking care of them on a daily basis. Simple measures such as using sunscreens, moisturizers, and other products can help diminish the telltale signs of aging. Frequently, the initial symptom of aging hands is the appearance of the skin itself. Initially, there is a loss of elasticity, loosening of the skin, or an uneven/blemished skin tone. Later, the veins, tendons, and joints become increasingly visible as they begin to protrude through the thinning skin, making them look older and weather-beaten. However, we can rewind the hands of time with a relatively simple intervention.
The Radiesse® hand lift is a new treatment that uses Radiesse® to significantly improve the appearance of the hands. The injection of Radiesse® is often used on parts of the face, like the cheeks or lips, to provide long-lasting resculpting and plumping effects. Radiesse® is made of phosphate and calcium ions, which occur naturally in the bones and cartilage. Radiesse® treatments induce your own body to increase collagen production which in turn improves upon the lost volume. With all the benefits Radiesse® has to offer, it’s an ideal injectable for rejuvenating your hands.
In addition to injecting Radiesse® into your hands, additional measures can help you attain more youthful-looking hands. Fat grafting can provide additional rejuvenating effects. If age spots, spider veins, or other blemishes are of concern then other adjunctive therapies such as laser rejuvenation and/or chemical peels are excellent options. These treatments can be performed alongside your Radiesse® hand lift if warranted.
