Abnormal vaginal bleeding?

Four months ago I began birth control, (depo). Ever since, I’ve had irregular bleeding, spotting, and bleeding during sex. I’m curious as to whether the shot is to blame, or if it is more serious.

Depo is a good birth control. Some never have periods & some irregular bleeding since it is a progesterone only birth control. You need however to be sure you are not pregnant. You may need to discuss alternative birth control if this continues.
Dear Abnormal Vaginal Bleeding : At Grand Round, The Professors and the Residents agreed the following: 1) A thorough Gynecology Examination Is needed 2) Pregnancy tests must be done: both Urine and Blood Tests 3) If the pregnancy tests are Negative, the additional therapeutic hormonal treatment might be required . Thank you very much Sincerely Yours, Bich Le, M.D.
