Alprazolam 0.25mg discontinuance?

Hello, I was taking alprazolam 0.25mg twice a day (morning and evening) for almost 2 months as a supportive therapy along with valsartan and nebivolol to normalize elevated blood pressure. But I think my blood pressure is at normal levels right now and I want to stop taking alprazolam 0.25mg anymore. Can I stop taking alprazolam at once or I should taper da dosage? Let's say taking half a tablet twice a day for some time, then once a day. I tried to find info about discounting alprazolam, but there are examples only for very high doses, not for 0.25mg (0.5mg total in 24 hours) What is the right way to stop talking alprazolam 0.25mg?

Current medications:
Valsartan 80mg in the morning Alprazolam 0.25mg in the morning and 0.25mg evening Nebivolol 2.5mg evening

Male | 42 years old

Conditions: High Blood Pressure

Please discuss this with your pharmacist and physician normally 10% reduction every several weeks it can cause seizures if changed to much too quickly!
Switch to Klonopin and taper from there.

Hello, When discontinuing any medication it is always best to do so with the help of the prescribing doctor; but especially when that medication is a benzodiazepine like Xanax is.
Hi there, that’s a great question. Taking alprazolam continuously for 2 months does require tapering. At a total of 0.5mg daily, however, your taper will be quite quick. For the first week, take 1 tablet in the morning and half a tablet at night. Week 2, take 1/2 tab in the morning and 1/2 tab at night. Week 3, take 1/2 tab in the morning and 0 tab at night. At week 4 you will be off of it. This will help prevent withdrawal symptoms.
Taper

I would taper off of the dosage regimen but please let your physician know about your decision.
