Contact lenses for astigmatism are called toric contact lenses and they are safe when prescribed properly and the user follows all rules concerning wearing time, cleaning, storing and disinfection, not sleeping in the lenses unless approved by your eye doctor, using the correct solutions, and following all rules and maintaining a good follow up schedule with your eye doctor. Good luck and best wishes.
