Are partial dentures better than implants?

I have missing teeth and want to replace them with partial dentures. Are partial dentures better than implants?

It depends on the condition of the bone and how long you have been without the extracted teeth. The answer is very subjective to the case and the patient’s finances.
Better is a relative. each way has its advantages. A partial will give you back your entire function to chew and if made appropriately work really well. Partial dentures work really well if made right. But so do implants if you do not mind higher cost by far. Partials are removable and implants do not have to be.

Thank you for your question. Partial dentures are a good and more affordable way of replacing missing teeth; however, nowadays implants are a more permanent and fixed solution.  Implant crowns are teeth that are not supposed to be removable and you brush them in your mouth as if they are your own teeth whereas dentures are removable and need to be removed and cleaned every day multiple times a day and they may harbor bacteria in your mouth or slur your speech.  Implants can be more costly than partials. Also, there is surgery involved with implants; however, sometimes implants can be placed at the same time the tooth is removed. Which prevents the need for a second surgery.  Your dentist can discuss all the options, risks, and benefits based on your own specific situation.
A prosthetic solution for a missing tooth depends on many circumstances like overall health, bone quality, endentulous area just to name a few. While implants are a good non-removable solution for some patients, for others partial dentures might be a better option based on the comprehensive diagnosis.

Implants with crowns would be much more secure and will function better. You have to decide what is comfortable for your budget.
