There are several injection types. Cortisone for immediate effect in knee articular inflammation. Viscosupplimentation for long term maintenance for osteoarthritis. PRP and Stem cell injections are use for specific situations. Recommend an evaluation by a non surgical rehabilitation physician for further evaluation. Michael A. For sure, of course get a proper physical exam as well as imaging to ensure if there aren’t any structural issues that need to be addressed first. You can asked an orthopedist about this
There are indeed injections for knee pain like cortisone injections. Although they usually are temporarily effective, everyone is different regarding how long the pain relief will last. I have spoken to patients that do not get any relief and I have talked to patients that get months of relief. Usually, the results are for approximately a month according to recent research findings. At 3 to 6 months afterwards other treatments work better and are safer. I have had terrific success using Laser Treatments on patients over the last 4 years. I myself had a torn medial meniscus at two places on my left knee. I could even walk as any pressure on the knee was unbearable. The MRI clearly showed the tears. I had an appointment with a Orthopedic Surgeon believing this might require Surgery. I decided to try Laser Treatment as a last resort before seeing the Orthopedic Doctor. Four Laser Treatments later, I had no more pain or limitations in my left knee. That was 2 years ago and I am still completely out of any left knee pain. There is Scientific Research that found Laser Treatment effective for Knee pain also.
