Are your lungs damaged after pneumonia?

I am a 28 year old female. I want to know if your lungs are damaged after pneumonia?

Not typically, but it can happen after severe illnesses
Depends on the type of pneumonia. The usual, bacterial pneumonias, when fully recovered, leave no lasting damage in the lungs.
Most cases of the usual standard bacterial community acquired pneumonia in patients with normal immune function heal completely. But there are some infections(including the COVID virus, for example) that can destroy lung tissue and thus result in chronicallyreduced lung function.
