At what age is the flu vaccine given?

There is no need for a flu vaccine unless immunocompromised. Flu should be treated as regularly would treat any illness or infection. The body builds antibodies, which helps with future flu strains and even other viruses that your child will eventually come into contact with.
6 months old is the standard of care
For COVID-19, Pfizer has a minimum age listed as 16 years old while Moderna's is 18 and up. Flu vaccines have different age minimums based on the strain. The seasonal flu for example is 6 months and older based on RIV4, IIV, or LAIV4. Check with your pediatrician for what is appropriate for your 1-year-old baby.
