Can I be puting more weight on my right leg?

My right calf off and on has a tight feeling almost like it's swelling. Sometimes its appears to look bigger than the left calf but when measured they're the same size. I also notice when I do my power walk it's like I favor my right leg I can feel the burn more in the right calf and not as much in the left. Can this be normal? What would cause this?

Check to make sure you don’t have a blood clot(DVT).
Yes, that is the definition of a “limp”; subconsciously, you can be putting more weight on that side without realizing. Are you overweight? What was your wgt when you graduated from high school? Your weight now? Any old injuries to the left leg/knee? How many minutes do you walk? Do you exercise after you walk? Do you stretch after your walks? These are all things that could affect the feeling you have in the right calf.

People can favor one leg over the other. Like links can play a role. A good physical exam by your family doctor or orthopedist could be helpful. Some physical therapy could help with your tension and tightness.
Best of luck to you.
Hello. Yes this can be normal after a rapid walk. It can also be what is called exertions compartment syndrome. In short when you overdo it the calf can swell, become painful and also irritate the nerve. In diabetes, especially if poorly controlled you can develop neuropathy. If this is causing you to walk less and less then I would discuss with your doctor. Good luck.
