short answer is yes. It may cause light scratches in the plastic which can attract more plaque and stain, but you will be switching to new trays at least every 2 wks. The best thing to do is soak them in a retainer cleaner to remove the debri and then wash them under warm water and brush them with no paste.
Toothpaste is abrasive to the acrylic tray and will cause the tray to pick up stain if you drink with the tray in. Its best to soak the tray and lightly brush it without toothpaste. You can also use a denture cleaner to clean.
It is better not to do so because the toothbrush and toothpaste can be abrasive and creates small scratches in them which harbor plaque and bacteria and cause discoloration and bad odor
Hi
It’s not recommended to brush your aligners as they will get scratched and harbor bacteria and stains . Use the cleaning tablets - purchased from Invisalign. I have heard the polydent tablets work well and also dishwashing detergent - but do remember you are changing aligners every 7- 14 days depending on the advice of your dentist. Hope this helps.

Why not?
We do not recommend brushing your Invisalign with toothpaste. Most toothpastes are too abrasive, and can damage the aligners. For daily care, we recommend rinsing the aligners under water, and brushing with a wet toothbrush, without any toothpaste.
