Ophthalmologist Questions Glasses

Can I do without reading glasses when I am able to read with naked eyes

I am 49 years old. I wear spectacles for many years and the number is (-) 2.25 for both eyes. Lately, I got a (+) 2.0 number for near eyesight. When I have to read a book or work on the computer I need to remove my specs. Should I continue like this or get other specs for the near-vision or get a progressive spec made? I am comfortable just removing my distance specs and reading. Can I continue like this?

Yes, you can continue to read or work on the computer without wearing your glasses.
Yes.

Since you are nearsighted, you will see well up close without glasses
for many years.

If you are naturally nearsighted you may not need reading glasses. Just
remove your distance glasses to read and you should be fine.
Feel free to read without your distances glasses. I have a similar glasses prescription and that’s what I do.

Yes, you can. You don't need reading glasses unless you don't want to remove your distance glasses, in which case you can get bifocals/trifocals/progressives as recommended by your doctor.
Yes, you can continue doing that. Most of my patients who are -2.25 prefer to take their glasses off once they get into their late 40s and beyond. If you’d like to be able to leave your glasses on, then you can upgrade to the progressive lens. Otherwise, I’d say, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
Hello
Yes, you can, as much as it is comfortable for you.
After 40 we become presbyopic(lost near accommodation or zoom in) that means the person will need readers or plus lens tta has magnification. In you case since you are nearsighted (myopic) you can remove your distance glasses to see near. Whatever works for you it should be fine. either bifical, progressive or juts removing you glasses for near vision. Good luck!
