“Can I swallow my saliva after mouthwash?”
I am a 23 year old female. I want to know if I can swallow my saliva after mouthwash?

This is a good question. The short answer is not normally. Traditional mouthwashes contain alcohol, and not the cocktail type of alcohol. Consuming too much would make you sick or worse. There are now available non-alcoholic mouthwashes which while non-alcoholic probably aren't the best choice either. Dentists and the manufacturers wisely advise you to expectorate (spit) the mouthwash afterwards. Now I say "normally" at the beginning of this note because Listerine now (as of September 2020) has a chewable mouthwash tablet that by their instructions you DO swallow afterwards. Easy to carry in your purse, easy to open, no splash or trash, easy to use, easy to swallow.
In most cases, you want to spit out the mouthwash before swallowing. Many mouthwashes contain alcohol and will burn going down. Others contain essential oils and won't set very well on your stomach. Otherwise, you can swallow your saliva after expectorating (spitting out) the mouthwash.

Once you have expectorated the mouthwash, yes, you can swallow your saliva. If it concerns you, rinse with some water after expectorating the mouthwash.
Yes. As long as you do not drink mouthwash, swallowing residual of it will be fine.
