Contact lennses can adversely impact the corneas but not the retinas.

Contact lenses cannot cause retinal damage. The contact lens is located within the tear film of the eye and placed on the cornea which is located in the front of the eye. The retina, '"the film of the camera" is located at the back of the eye.
