“Can hernia mesh push through skin?”
I developed a large bruise on my abdomen with a sharply raised center which feels like a sharp object. It's located on the mesh surgical scar.

Hello, there are times when the mesh can come out, but as I tell most people I need a bit more information before I can comment on your particular case, your best approach is to go see your surgeon and have them see and test you for what is going on.
Reconsult your surgeon. You will need US then possible CT scan of abdomen.

Very rare for this to happen. But yes. Skin can become thin around the mesh. And pressure from within could result in mesh movements.
