Can you get your tonsils removed without anesthesia?

I am a 23 year old male. I want to know if you can get your tonsils removed without anesthesia?

If you would like to, the surgeon may not. Prior to 1946, that was the way.
Umm no.

No, removing tonsils without anesthesia would not be tolerated due to pain and potentially stimulating your "gag reflex" limiting exposure to the site of surgery which can make the surgeon's work harder.
